The essence of my work with the Bismillah Institute is to incorporate the Islamic Model of Lifestyle into Proven Western Methods of Counseling Science in order to help you find inner Peace. My name is Maha Mubarak, a Palestinian-American Social Worker. I was born and raised in the Sunshine State where I completed an advanced education. I received my Bachelors in Psychology at Florida Atlantic University. I later decided to pursue a graduate degree after working in the non-profit community as a coordinator for vulnerable populations. Working in this field gave me hope and assurance that I am serving the right people which encouraged me to complete a Masters in Social Work at the University of West Florida and later, a Certification from the University of Pittsburg in OCD Treatments. As a social worker, I am here to enhance human well-being and help meet the basic human needs of all people. My core responsibility as a professional is to embrace, advocate, and support those in need.

FATIMAH ISRAR, RD

Fatimah Israr is a dedicated licensed dietitian who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. She has a multifaceted skill set, having worked with diverse populations throughout her career. Fatimah began her journey in nutrition by serving the nutritional needs of expectant mothers and young children at WIC, and later transitioned to working in long-term care facilities, where she cared for the nutritional needs of elderly and disabled individuals. The majority of her career, however, has been spent in hospital settings, where she has become an expert in catering to patients with acute injuries and chronic illness.

Sana’s parents emigrated to the United States from Hyderabad, India, at young ages. She was drawn into the field of mental health counseling because of the struggles experienced personally and noticing there was a lack of culturally appropriate services that could help her work through her issues and lead a positive and healthy lifestyle. Hanna is a Syrian American clinical social worker from Southern California. She completed her graduate degree at the University of Central Florida in 2018. After obtaining her graduate degree, Hanna’s journey to motherhood led her to realize the challenges accompanied with the perinatal period and a newfound desire to help women navigate the process of matrescence. She is passionate about helping mothers transition through all the shifts that occur during this time, such as: mood alterations; changes within identity, roles, relationships, and values; attachment issues; and maintaining overall wellbeing.

With a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Florida International University, Maia brings a wealth of experience and passion for mental health advocacy. From working at FIU’s Center for Children and Families to contributing to trauma-informed care at the THRIVE Clinic in the University of Miami Hospital, she is dedicated to multidisciplinary approaches.
With three years in community mental health, she has provided empathetic individual, family, and couples therapy. Maia upholds the highest standards of care, she values diversity and cultural sensitivity in her therapeutic approach. Her goal is to foster a safe, non-judgmental space, guiding individuals toward positive change.
